Overeating iseating disorder characterized by the absorption of excessive amounts of food and inability to stop at the right time. Very often it causes such a serious, chronic disease as obesity.

From a scientific point of view, obesity – superfluous fat deposits in the hypodermic cellular tissue, organs and tissues. It is manifested by an increase body weight for 20 percent and more of the average values due to the adipose tissue. However, this is not all. This disease affects many factors of human life – brings psycho-physical discomfort, causes sexual disorders, diseases of the spine and joints. It increases the risk of atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, hypertension, myocardial infarction, stroke, diabetes, kidney and liver damage, as well as disability and mortality from these diseases. The critical age for the emergence of excess weight is from 30 to 60 years. At the same time, women are exposed to the development of obesity twice more often than men.

The study of obesity and ways to combat it is the task not only of such science as endocrinology. According to international experts of World Health Organization, obesity is a global epidemic of modern times, spanning millions of people around the world, regardless of professional, social, ethnic, geographic, gender and age groups.

Patients with obesity are 2-3 times more likely to suffer from hypertension, 3-4 times – stenocardia and coronary heart disease than people with normal weight. Almost any disease, even such as acute respiratory viral infection, influenza and inflammation of lungs, is more prolonged and heavier, with a higher percentage of complications for people suffering from obesity.
